Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe

Fresh Basil Pesto made with olive oil, pine nut and usage of Mortar and Pestle

Fresh Basil Pesto

Fresh pesto prepared at home is really worth the effort as it will have a much better flavor than those purchased from a store. The main difficulty is to find the proper ingredients. Try to go to Arabic or Mediterranean stores when buying pine nuts. Once you get the pine nuts the pesto is half way done and it takes you only 10 minutes to prepare it.

Ingredients

The following ingredients are for 5 oz
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon of pine nuts
1 tablespoon of fresh parmesan, grated
20 fresh basil leaves
5 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Salt to taste

Directions

Blend the garlic with a blender and add the pine nut. Now add the parmesan, and blend it until the whole composition is both well mixed and finely milled. Add the basil and mince it very well. Finally, add the olive oil and make sure that is well blended into the mix. The sauce has to have a finely texture, just a little bit grained.

Tips

Use the pesto soon after you prepared it. If you want to keep it for later use, put it into a pot (cover the surface with olive oil) and deposit it in the fridge. It may last for a week.

i like to experience new recipee n pesto is one of them eager to prepare.
my store-room is full for the winter with all the home-made jars – gems, pickles, sauces, zacchis, juices ( fir-buds juice is the best for all seasons ) and all shadow-dryied-winter-use leaves .
i am very determined mom, that home-made-stock-food has no match in the any-super class store !
i brought up four kids with many-spent hours in the kitchen and , voila ! all of them never try a bit of antibioticks meds, except the very common-illness meds.
