Easy Pesto Recipe
Preparing pesto is among the easiest recipes in the world, anyway. It is delicious, of low calories and the following recipe is very easy to make:
Ingredients
A handful of basil leaves
3 olive oil tablespoons
3 tablespoons pecorino cheese (Parmesan or another grated hard cheese is fine, too)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of pine nuts
1 clove of garlic
Directions
It is better to use a mortar and pestle to crush the basil after washing it very gently under slow flowing, not too cold water. Add some salt and pepper, the pine nuts, crushed garlic and the olive oil. Crush the ingredients until you get a paste. Now, add the pecorino and continue mixing. Spice it with some additional salt and pepper if it is the case.
Tips
When you crush the ingredients using mortar and pestle, you should crush the ingredients for at least 10 minutes so that the flavor will unfold best.
